Abejani creates soulful, handcrafted hats that honor your unique nature and the unseen threads that connect beauty, spirit, and land.
Born in the mountains of Ecuador, Abejani is inspired by reverence for beauty, tradition, and the expression of the unseen - where craft becomes ritual and objects carry soul.
Each hat is crafted by hand in Ecuador from pure wool sourced from sheep raised in the Ecuadorian mountains, using traditional techniques and finished with distinctive, handcrafted adornments, intentionally designed to express the character and symbolism of its archetype.
Our hats are made to be lived in.
Rooted in tradition. Free in expression.

Meet the Founder
Meet the Founder
Originally from England, Abejani’s founder, Bethany Cook, arrived in Ecuador over a decade ago while traveling through South America. Crossing the border from Peru, she intended to stay only a few days. The magic of the Andes changed that plan.
Captivated by the mountains, expansive skies, crystalline waters, and deep cultural roots of the region, she felt called to stay. Ecuador became home, and the inspiration for Abejani took root.
An artisan herself, Bethany is drawn to the beauty of craft, the language of materials, and the stories carried through each piece. Her designs explore mythological archetypes, taking form through the hands of skilled artisans, each contributing their own artistry and time honored techniques.
At the heart of this approach is the Andean principle of Ayni - sacred reciprocity: the understanding that we thrive through mutual care, generosity, and respect for one another and the natural world.
Through Abejani, we invite others to express the magic and individuality that lives within.
